Punchline Recommends: Casual Violence ‘The Great Fire of Nostril’

Words by Susan Fordimage

Casual Violence follow up last year’s show ‘The House of Nostril’ with another dark comedy play ‘The Great Fire of Nostril’. With a sinister story line and a massive dose of madness in the plot, ‘The Great Fire of Nostril’ is certainly not for the faint-hearted.

Admittedly, it may take a while for you to fully jump on board with Casual Violence’s new creation; but as the plot twists and the characters unravel, everything comes together for a wonderful, but very dark production. The humour comes from devious and wicked characters that may not be likeable, but are very funny to watch. And if you can relate to these characters, you need help my friend!

‘The Great Fire of Nostril’ is the story of a murderous little boy, and the scenarios that could exist if you really do get everything you wish for. The play could easily be a Tim Burton film; a bit strange, but enchantingly sinister and magical at every turn.

Casual Violence perform ‘The Great Fire of Nostril’ at 16.45 in Pleasance Upstairs, as well as their free show ‘Om Nom Nom Nominous’ which is a collection of sketches, performed later in the evening at Voodoo Rooms.
