Daisy Earl

What is your favourite synonym for “bum”?

Badankadonk

Whose swearing makes you laugh the most?

My mum’s. She does nice mum-swearing; she once told me to shit off!

Who should come to see your show and why?

Anyone who has ever felt like they don’t know what they’re doing in life. My show is very honest but very funny (if I do say so myself!). I talk about my mental health, my weight, my love life and my sobriety.

Who are you excited about seeing this year?

Everyone! Genuinely everyone! I am not a discerning audience member. I like so many comics for so many different reasons.

Imagine you come off stage and find a wish come true. Which food/drink/present/person would be waiting for you?

Grandad Scotland – he’s my favourite person and I don’t get to see him enough. I’d rather hang out with him than anyone else after gigs.

Describe your perfect day at the Fringe.

My show goes well, I see nice friends, I watch good things. (Apologies for writing that like a five-year-old)

How long does it take to come down after a show and how do you do it?

It takes me forever. I try to hang out and chat to people after shows where I can. It’s sociable and helps use up some of that energy.

In the game “Would You Rather?” what’s the hardest choice you have had to make?

Never be able to taste food again or once a week have sweetcorn fall out of your nose for an hour (I chose the sweetcorn eventually)

What’s your favourite Brexit metaphor?

The mice weren’t happy with the squirrels so they set fire to the forest.

Who or what helped you believe you were going to make it in comedy?

My Scottish comedy family – I started on the Scottish scene and it’s incredibly supportive.

Tell us something your agent doesn’t want us to know.

Weirdly she actually mentioned the other day not to go on about how funny I am? Yeah, it was weird. She said you’re really funny and don’t mention to people you have a fringe show at 4 at Patter Hoose!!
