It’s so easy for me to pen my admiration for Seann Walsh, he is literally one of my favourite comedians and I’m already feeling slightly giddy writing this blog. But my own personal gratitude aside, here at Punchline we are so excited about Walsh’s return to the lineup this month in both the Perth and Edinburgh Punchline Comedy Galas, we had to share it with you!
Seann’s presence at the Edinburgh Festival (see our review here) was admirably acknowledged this year as he was nominated for the prestigious Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award. Ever since Walsh began performing comedy in 2006 in fact, he has been one for grabbing awards: he won several awards early in his career including Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2009 and Chortle Best Newcomer 2009.
Seann’s perhaps most noted at the moment for his numerous TV appearances, not just as a comedian but as an actor and host as well. He is currently the face of Comedy Central with his own show ‘Seann Walsh World’ and role in sitcom ‘Big Bad World’. He can also be seen as a regular on ‘Mock the Week’, ‘Nevermind the Buzzcocks’ and ‘Live at the Apollo’.
Seann Walsh made up one fifth of the first ever Punchline show in March last year, alongside Mark Olver, Idiots of Ants, Frankie Boyle, and Andrew Lawrence, and this October will see him perform with Des Clarke, Ian D Montfort and Ivan Brackenbury. After a very successful couple of years, Walsh’s Punchline performances are two of very few opportunities available to see him live in Scotland.
